A Component record stores the Completion Status, Start Date, and End Date for a Program record, and can be further broken down into Component Types and Component Type Categories.
Component Status
The Component Status is a configurable picklist on the Components object to determine the stat of a program component and, by default, has the following values:

Pending Approval

Approved

Rejected
Component Types
A Component Type is a sub-requirement(s) of a program that is necessary to complete before the finalization of a program; for example, two courses out of a list of ten.
Component Type Categories
The Component Type Category shows the Category or activity that the selected Component Type belongs to, like a course or an exam.
