When no URL parameter is given, the AddEditPaymentMethodDataSource data source returns and new external payment profile record. If the account has no other external payment profiles, the returned external payment profile has Default preselected so it is set as the default stored payment method.
If a URL parameter is given, the AddEditPaymentMethodDataSource data source returns the external payment profile record with the same ID.
